Eye exercises
Posturologists evaluate and treat asymmetries of the muscles of the eye. The goal is to evaluate the movements of the ocular globe. As well, visual exercises can be suggested to obtain a faster correction.
We use these exercises as an addition to orthoptic re-education as we await the possibiity to work with orthoptists or optometrists that are conscious of the relationship between the eye and posture.
These exercises are used in the cases of a binocular vision.
1. The first consists of looking at a visual traget, in this case the tip of a pen.
2. The pen should be held at a 45 degree angle as the patient progresses in doing successive concentrique circles in front of their forehead. They must slowly approach the tip of the pen as they diminish the diametre of the cirlcles. If the target is lost or "doubled" the exercises are stopped and must be redone.
3.These exercises must be completed 3 times a day for 60 seconds.
